Notes on the Ermine Skate A110-M

“The A110-M was the flashy farewell to Ermine’s original A-Series line of Nordic skates. The A110-M (A110-Midnight) was Ermine’s first black skate, and the first A-Series skate to feature laser work on the top of the deck.

The deck artwork depicted the constellations visible overhead on January 1 in Anchorage. I created the artwork by referring to online star charts, and consulted multiple sources to make sure I hadn’t made mistakes with the constellations (I knew if I had I’d never hear the end of it…). The North Star is located at the tip, along with constellations visible more directly overhead, while constellations closer to the horizon are located toward the tail.

The A110-M was a great way to kick off the 2025/26 Nordic skating season, and also marked our transition from the original A-Series skates (the A100 and A110) to the new and improved Ak1.”
