A110
Subtle design updates, Xplore compatibility, and a fresh berry-themedd color palette define Ermine’s successor to the A100.
Notes on the Ermine Skate A110
“The A110 was an iteration of our signature inaugural product, the A100. In terms of design, the biggest update for the A110 was compatibility with Rottefella’s new Xplore binding. Xplore had launched while we were selling the A100, and I felt that the platform had huge potential for Nordic skates. At the same time, I wanted Ermine’s updated skate to retain compatibility with the ‘bread-and-butter’ standards: NNN and NNN BC (as well as the now-legacy SNS standard). The A110 managed to accommodate all of these standards, and Xplore compatibility was an industry first.
The ‘berry collection’ color palette was the brainchild of Daniel Volland, who has provided color and design consulting services to Ermine since our founding. The new colors were a huge hit. Blueberry and Crowberry took the lead in terms of numbers, but Cloudberry and Salmonberry made up for numbers with enthusiastic customers.
The A110 exemplified two core values of Ermine: continue to innovate, and have fun. I believe the A110 was the most functional and attractive skate on the market until we released its successor, the substantially upgraded Ak1, in October 2025.”
